No Fee ATM worldwide - mr bill - 12-26-2012
Since my local US bank dropped its absorbtion of ATM fees I switched to a Schwab No Fee ATM card. After five months of use - the 1st two involving a little learning curve as to which banks to avoid [Banorte as Schwab doesn't seem able to auto detect thier fees] and what exchange rate Schwab uses [Visa Corporate] all is running smoothly. Not only have I gotten back $71.35 in fees so far they also pay interest on the account.

Yes and if you have your account linked to a brokerage account and have let's say a medical emergency your bank card could borrow money on margin from the brokerage account automatically

Another way to go is a BanamexUSA debit card good at any Banamex ATM (only) as Citibank partners with Banamex for this one. If you want to know how to open an account get one call US 1-800-222-1234,; not possible through Banamex here There's also a Mexican 800 # but I don't have it handy. Believe me, the savings on fees using this card add up. Interest but of course it's minimal.
