Ready for somewhere different, Day of the Dead? Aguascalientes - raquelita - 10-28-2012
As the city where printmaker Jose Guadalupe Posada made the Calavera a symbol of the day as well as a satirical symbol of the upper class before the Revolution, Aguascalientes is devoting a whole week of events this year (started the 26th through Nov 4), 100 years after Posada's death. By bus from Leon every half hour, as I remember it's a two-hour trip. I also remember two good restaurants near the Posada Museum.

We may well celebrate 2012 as the YEAR OF THE DEAD. Watch the following youtube video to see all the dolphins, birds, fish, seals, whales, and much much more that died in totally mysterious ways. The scientists have no clue.

My wife's home city! I have been going to the Los Muertos celebrations in Aguas since 2007 and can't recommend them enough.
We head that way to meet up with family and friends on Wednesday!
