According the Happy Planet Index (HPI) on page 26 issue 2.0, Latin
America are the only countries in the entire world where the level of
personal satisfaction with life and the affect of the lifestyle on
global resources is cohesive. In other words, the HPI means that we
need over four planets with resources equal to our Earth to sustain
the United States, but only one to sustain Latin America. Therefore,
when you buy from a Latin American artist, travel to Latin America, or
move to Latin America you are doing a great service for all of
humanity. Additionally, you are increasing your likelihood of finding
happiness and a longer lifespan in the process.
It is worth your time to look at HPI
and download their report 2.0. Then turn to page 26, not that the whole
report is not mesmerizing. The point is, in the USA we are not happy
and we are using an excessive amount of resources to live a long
lifespan. In Latin America, people are happy and they are not using an
excessive amount of resources to live that same long lifespan.
